Dino the Incredible Years – Social and Emotional Development Program
The Incredible Years® Dinasour’s Social Skills program supported with clinical studies help children gain skills such as understanding emotions and communicating, effective problem-solving, anger management, friendship, and verbal skills while also developing their academic skills.
This program is designed to gain preschool children social, emotional, and academic competences. Skills such as problem-solving, social skills, confrontation and anger management, emotional literacy, appropriate school behaviors, literacy, and communication are gained to the children in order to meet this goal.
In this program carried out at MIA with pleasure, the children first meet and connect with the mascots of the program, puppets Dino and Wally. Within the program, the children learn about boundaries and rules. Then, they develop their problem-solving skills by interpreting their emotions and understanding the right behavioral pattern.
In the context of this program, we use various methods and rich materials in order for children to perform what they learn in their daily lives, and the home activity leg of this program is one of the most important factors that stimulate learning.
The following methods are used in these cognitive-behavioral lessons given by our school psychologist and classroom teacher in tandem
- Roleplay and application
- Kids puppets and color cards
- Stickers and incentives
- Small group workshops
- Home activities with parents
