Psychological Counseling and Guidance

At MIA Kindergartens, children learn to control themselves while they are learning appropriate behaviors. The ages, the levels of intellectual development, emotional state, and past experiences of the children are taken into account during the MIA guidance procedure. Our goal is to raise self-confident, self-expressive, critical thinker, problem solver, and positive minded students with well-developed social skills.

The guidance service provided by our school utilizes the Incredible Years® Dinasour’s Social Skills and problem-solving program and the Merrell’s Strong Kids program in order to improve the social skills of the children.

The test developed by the Emaar Academy that measures the Movement Development, Social and Emotional Development, Language Development, Cognitive Development, and Self-Care Skills is performed twice a year and the results are shared with the parents.

Our school psychologists use a variety of information gathering methods to keep track of children’s development. The collected information is shared with the parents twice a year.

ILGIN ÇAKMAK

Clinical psychologist Ilgın Çakmak graduated ranking first in her class from the Department of Psychology at the Near East University in 2016. After graduating her Bachelor’s program, she completed her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Üsküdar University in 2019. In addition to receiving the WAPP (World Association Positive Psychotherapy) approved Positive Psychotherapy basic education, she is continuing the Systemic Child-Adolescent Therapy training approved by Weinheim and Systemic Psychotherapy Institute. She is an educator in the family counseling programs of universities. Her scientific and research interests include developmental psychology, child-adolescent, interpersonal relationships, friend relationships, and Positive Psychotherapy. Since 2017, as well as carrying out psychotherapy services with children and parents within the scope of Mutlu İlk Adımlar Kindergartens, she has been implementing guidance programs.

DUYGU TONGUÇ

Pyschological Counselor Duygu Tonguç graduated from Yeditepe University Pyschological Counseling and Guidance program in 2017. After graduation, she received trainings in Solution Focused Brief Therapy and psychological tests applied to children from APAMER Actual Psychological Research Center. Furthermore, she completed couples and family counseling education at Yıldız Technical University. She actively volunteers at the Hope Foundation for Children with Cancer. Since 2018, as well as carrying out psychotherapy services with children and parents within the scope of Mutlu İlk Adımlar Kindergartens, she has been implementing guidance programs.
